Good Evening, Blogger, Fancy a Cup of Thoughts?
Good evening, readers. Care for a Cup of Thoughts in this beautiful evening? And by Cup of Thoughts, I meant my blogposts. No? Are you sure? Wait, please stay, I'll promise it will at least be a fun read!
Who Even is This Kid?
I am Vessel. I am known within the people that knows me as a beginner digital artist, a little bit of an anime fan, a little bit of a video game fan, but first and foremost, a recent Roman Catholic Convert. Aspiring Catholic, actually. Not yet in OCIA even, but I do hope I'll get there soon.
When in my final hours of the day, I am a 20 year old dude sitting in front of the 'puter doing things he enjoys doing. I REALLY love stories. Give me a fairy tale, give me an old short story, give me an entire novel. I'll eat them all up real good. Just don't give me spicy romance stories, I'll vomit reading those.
One thing that I already mentioned is that I'm a beginner digital artist. I have loved art since I was little. Albeit, my drawings have always sucked. It's not until a few years back I properly studied how to draw, well, kind of. I have a lot to learn still. Color theory, anatomy, bla bla. I still need to grasp these things. You'll see my drawings maybe in my next post. I have nothing prepared as of now to show.
When I'm not doing anything productive in those hours, it would usually indicate that I feel bodily exhausted (or just wanna lay on bed). In these times, I would boot up the Crunchyroll app on my phone and start up an episode of an anime I'm watching. Either that or cat videos. Heh. Cats.
When in duty, I am a college student taking the degree of Computer Science (tragic, I know). I work a part-time job as a programmer, which has been a blessing since now I can help my families by buying some things I need (or want, lol) myself. Those Pokemon cards ain't gonna buy themselves, am I right? (Please spend responsibly)
All those parts are cool and all, but I am, first and foremost, a Christian. I was born Protestant, raised in a Pentecostal Church my whole life. I have been considering Catholicism for...how long now...maybe around 5-6 months? At last, I finally did deeper research into the faith and tried my darndest to practice the faith that I found to be able to back their claim to have the Fullness of the Truth. Lord have mercy on me, a sinner and an idiot.
I came from the glorious nation of Indonesia (stuff are going on here, but yeah). That is a core identity of me, according to my friends, that is. It is what it is. Enough about me, let's start talking about what this Blogger site will even be.
Wha'chu Mean a Cup of Thoughts?
I have been having a lot of thoughts recently, especially when I started taking my faith seriously. Some are fun, some are interesting, and some has, admittedly, made me wake up with panic attacks for 2 weeks straight. Rest assured, I won't (at least try to) make you, readers, wake up with panic attacks anytime you read my posts. I decided it is better for myself to share this thoughts.
The idea of having a blogpost actually started with my desire to start doing something for God, even small things. Something that is immediately effective here and now, something I can immediately see the fruits of. Since I'm a programmer (vibe coder at best), I came up with the brilliant idea of making a blogpost. I will be sharing my thoughts here, like sharing a cup of tea or coffee with an old friend. Hence, Cup of Thoughts.
Here, I will most likely be talking about thoughts I had about the Catholic faith, whether it be from spiritual reading, some random article or posts that I got, or simply from watching a recent episode of an anime, or a recent video game I played. Basically just the mumbles and jumbles that formed inside my ever buzzing brain (for the better or for worse) in the form of words I made to be as coherent as possible. Notice I did not promise it to even be coherent (please don't leave, I promise it will at least be a fun read).
I share my thoughts not as a teacher, but as a fellow Christian finding out new things about the faith. Sometimes even straight up geeking about it. There are some parts of the faith I'm more interested in than the other is why. I will be uploading hopefully twice a week. Maybe even more if I feel giddy.
That is all I have for now. Let's end this blogpost with a simple Our Father.
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
That's all for this evening folks. I need a catchphrase for the end of every blogpost. Bah, I'll figure that out later. Stay safe out there. God love you.
